Corrine’s Cozy Leg Warmers
A cozy cable and lace leg warmer. This is a great project for practicing cables, and working a little bit of lace. Their fitted silhouette means they can easily be paired with boots, but I really like to wear them around the house over leggings. They also make a great gift.
Construction:
Worked in the round from the cuff down. Features leg shaping in the lower calf to limit excess fabric around the ankles. The cables do occasionally cross over the end of row, but the pattern explains what to do in those situations.
The pattern has been professionally tech edited by Hannah Middleton, and has been test knitted
Included:
-Pattern PDF
-Charts + Written instructions for the charts
-Illustrated construction overview
-Links to video tutorials of special techniques
-Full schematic and size chart
Sizing:
Choose the size whose cuff (A on the schematic) is 10% smaller than the widest part of your calf. If between sizes, size down.
A (Calf Cuff): 8”, 9.5”, 11.25”, (12.75”, 14.5”, 16”) {17.5”, 19.25”} / 20 cm, 24 cm, 28 cm, (32 cm, 36 cm, 40 cm) {44 cm, 48 cm}
B (Ankle): 5.25”, 6.5”, 7.5”, (8.5”, 9.5”, 10.75”) {11.75”, 12.75”} / 13.5 cm, 16 cm, 18.5 cm, (21.5 cm, 24 cm, 26.5 cm) {29.5 cm, 32 cm}
I knit size 4, and am wearing it with about 8.5% of negative ease at the calf.

Gauge:
30 stitches and 44 rounds in 4” / 10 cm in 2x2 ribbing with (Smaller) needles, after blocking. This is the gauge that matters most, as it will determine if the ribbed cuff will stay up.
29 stitches and 34 rounds in 4” / 10 cm in cables with (Larger) needles, after blocking.
Needles & Notions:
(Smaller) US 3 / 3.25 mm circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge after blocking.
(Larger) US 6 / 4 mm circular needles, or 3 sizes bigger than (Smaller) needles.
You may find DPNs or Magic Loop more comfortable, as the circumference gets pretty small.
1 stitch marker, darning needle, scissors, cable needle.
(Optional) Thin elastic to help the cuff stay up.
Yardage:
Plymouth Yarn Moon Shadow 2, 3, 3, (3, 3, 4) {4, 4} skeins (164 yards / 150 meters per 50 g), 68% Alpaca, 32% Pima Cotton, in the color ‘Natural Moon’.
OR 289, 335, 381, (423, 470, 516) {558, 604} yards / 264, 306, 349, (387, 430, 472) {510, 553} meters of comparable DK weight yarn.
You’ll need an additional 167, 194, 225, (251, 282, 309) {336, 367} yards / 153, 117, 206, (230, 258, 283) {307, 335} meters to add a repeat.
