Cosy Wristwarmers II
This is my 2nd wrist warmer pattern – I have lost count of how many of the first version I have made and sold – so I thought it was time for a change! The challenge was in finding an alternative to the alpine stitch I used in the original, which gives a thick and squishy (and therefore warm) result whilst still being easy to crochet for relative beginners.
So here it is – after testing lots of stitches I finally found a new favourite. It is very simple (just made up of front and back post trebles), requires next to no stitch counting and produces a nice textured result. As you will see, I have also added a ribbed section at the wrist for extra interest.
S, M & L sizes are included, I have used a 4mm hook, but you can easily adjust the size further by going up or down a hook size. You can easily make one pair from any 100g ball of DK yarn
The pattern is written using UK crochet terminology and uses front and back post stitches. It is crocheted in the round so there is no seam to sew up! It is suitable for relative beginners (you will only need to know how to crochet into the back loops of the ribbed section and front and back post trebles.
The pattern includes full written instructions as well as a photo tutorial.
