Cottage Pinks Shawl
The yarn for this shawl made me think of Sweet William with their clusters of pink, magenta, and purple flowers. In Shetland Fine Lace Knitting by Carol Christiansen, she includes a pattern with a diamond of lace holes set in two broken waves (pattern 3.3, page 51) that fit my image of clusters of Swett Williams. I did reverse the pattern so it could be knit top down instead of bottom up. I also switched it to a stockinette instead of garter stitch ground but feel free to do a garter stitch version
The shawl is triangular and knit from the top down.
The yarn is hand spun from a blend of 60% Merino wool, 10% Shetland wool, 15% tussah silk, 10% bombyx silk, and 5% sari silk. I think the shawl would look lovely in a solid or semi solid as well.
Warning - the pattern has not been test knitted by anyone other than myself so there may be errors. Please let me know if you find any and I will post a corrected version. Please make sure you have the most recent version. Thanks.
