Cotton Top
This is an old pattern so please be kind. This is how they were written 20 years ago…. less detail, much shorter, and assuming the knitter has basic knitting knowledge. (You can always contact me with questions.)
My sister gave me this exquisite cotton yarn as a gift many years ago. I thought it would make a lovely basic top to wear with jeans or suits. The yarn is very soft but thicker than most cottons, and surprisingly light in weight. I did not want a thick ribbing at the neck but opted for a delicate, simple edging and decided to try a braided cord trim. The cord edging can be purchased at a sewing shop and makes the neckline trim and simple to execute. (It is MUCH easier than knitting a ribbed edge.) Experiment and use colored braid for a sporty look!
