This is a pattern for a knit Christmas stocking in a southern country style. It incorporates a decorative, fair isle cuff to include a name and year (optional) along with a heel and toe in contrast to the main body of the stocking.

For a two-toned stocking, you will need approximately 150 yards in the main color (MC) and 100 yards in the contrasting color (CC).

This stocking can be knit in any round knitting method: magic loop, 2 circulars, or DPNs. As it includes an I cord hanging loop, DPNs in the same size needle are handy to have for that portion. Also, you will need another circular, DPN, or other stitch holder in any similar size for picking up the cast-on round to form the encased cuff. (I used a spare sock DPN for this, picking up and working 10-15 stitches at a time.)

In addition to your basic knitting supplies, you will need two stitch markers.

The pattern includes a chart for the letters/numbers I used and also a schematic drawing.

Edit: There is now a separate file download on the pattern website for the text charts. If you download the plain text version of the pattern (with no images or formatting), you will want to download the Appendix 2 Lettering Index file as well!
