The Coven Cardi is a worsted-weight, top-down, striped raglan cardigan. This design was inspired by my group of best fiber friends (“the Coven”). Since we all have different styles and color preferences, I wanted to integrate an easily customizable element - stripes - into a wearable silhouette for us all. Thus, the Coven Cardi was born! This design can be knit in endless stripe (or even solid) varieties to fit your tastes.

Please be sure to check the pattern photos for detailed finished measurements for each size, as well as detailed yarn yardage requirements. As a note, you can choose your desired ease, as I made three samples ranging from 4 inches of negative ease (at bust) to 4 inches of positive ease (at bust). Depending on your desired fit, I would recommend 2 inches negative ease at bust for a torso-skimming fit, 0-2 inches positive ease at bust for a relaxed fit, or 2-4+ inches positive ease at bust for an oversized fit. Please also note that yarn approximations are for the total yardage of the sweater (i.e., not for individual striping patterns), based on the pattern as written.

Finally, I include notes for each pattern sample linked in the projects to this pattern, and an overview of stripe planning in the pattern itself.

I encourage you to knit the Coven Cardi with your local yarn store, knit group, or best fiber friends to be inspired by all of the different possibilities of stripes, colors, and patterns you can create with this design!
