Cozy in Fur Reversible Earmuffs

Furry earmuffs to keep you warm on those chilly, cold weather days

These muffs are reversible and can be worn on the knitted side or the fur side (both ways are super comfortable!). They are a quick knit and can be sized by adjusting the number of neck band rows or the top cable band. So go ahead and grab yourself a hot beverage and get knitting. They make a great holiday gift!

SIZES:
Easily customizable: Size shown is 19.5” for actual head size 22.5“

There is stretch to the yarn so the length should be approximately 3” smaller than the head size. The piece can be easily increased or decreased in size by reducing or increasing rows 1 & 2 at the beginning and end of the pattern or by adding or subtracting a 6 row repeat in the top band.

MATERIALS LIST:
• US size 9 (5.5mm) or size neededto obtain gauge. Can be knitted on regular needles, short circulars or even dpns.
• US size 15 (10mm) for fur muffs.
• Large darning needle to stitch muffs to knitted piece.

YARN
1 ball of each yarn (1 Impeccable and 1 Alpine fur) should make 3 sets of earmuffs (tweed or solid)

Loops & Threads® Impeccable™ Yarn
4 Medium Worsted Weight
Solid: (1 ball = 128gms, 285 yards)
or you can substitute the tweed version of this yarn.
Tweed: (1 ball = 85gms, 190 yards)
Note: if choosing the tweed yarn you may need 2 balls to make 3 sets of earmuffs.
100% Acrylic
or similar yarn that gives you the same gauge

Sirdar Alpine
Super Chunky
(1 ball = 50gms, 36 yards)
100% Polyester
or similar fur type yarn that gives you the same gauge leave tails no more than 5” to acquire 6 muffs from one ball.

GAUGE
Impeccable:
15 sts / 22 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch
Note: the tweed version of this yarn may yield a slightly smaller final version. This should not affect sizing due to its stretchiness.
Alpine (fur):
11 sts x 12 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch
Note I made a small adjustment to gauge on the fur yarn. Should be 11 not 9.

COLOURWAYS:
Impeccable: Claret, Teal, Walnut Tweed
Alpine: Seal, Brindle
