This pattern starts with 68 stitches and expands to 80 stitches (for the thumb). For the top of the mitten you will be reducing the amount of stitches by 4 on each row. By the time you reach the end of the chart, there should be only 16 stitches. Then you will cast off. This is a one size pattern, but I have made size variations by changing needles to either a 1 or a 3. My husband has big hands and the size 3 needles make them the perfect size for him. You will only need one skein of each yarn. There should be some leftover by the time you finish both mittens. Enjoy!
