Worked from just two 25gm balls of this super-light yarn, Crescendo is as soft as a feather and dreamy-light to wear.

Starting from the centre base stitch, the pattern grows gradually from the centre spine and can be made as large or as small as required, suiting any quantity or quality of yarn with surprisingly varied results.

I found it useful to mark the right side of the work to avoid confusion on the garter stitch base, but a nice variation would be to work every wrong side row: K2, P to last 2 sts, K2, to give a sleek stocking stitch lace fabric.

This is a surprisingly large shawl which is quick and easy to knit - a perfect shawl starter project or relaxing make for experienced knitters, just right to send as a gift or simply for self-indulgent treat knitting!
