This shawl is made using short rows. The lace border is knit first, then you begin the short rows in stockinette.

You may want to try a swatch of the lace pattern before starting so that you feel comfortable with it before committing to the full shawl length.

Although the lace heart pattern is relatively simple, it does require a baseline row that is knit only once, and it can be just a little confusing at first.

If you have more than 328 yards of yarn, you will be able to complete 4 pattern sets. I was able to do four repeats with the 2 balls of Pure, but I literally had only inches left. So if you use the same yarn, keep a short tail. If you have a bit less, do only 3 repeats before beginning the crescent or you may run out of yarn.

I’ve knit two of these shawls so far. They knit up quickly.

The photos show both shawls. One is a three-pattern repeat and one is a four-pattern repeat. Both were made from the same yarn.
