Crescent Top Child
A boxy, cropped top constructed bottom up and seamed together. A picot edge, squishy garter stitch, structured edges, and eyelet panels make this sweetly feminine top perfect for summer and wearing over dresses in cooler weather.
The work starts with a provisional cast-on starting with the front panel. After the hem is worked, the live stitches and the provisional cast-on will be joined to create a folded, picot hem. Next, the garter stitch body is worked until the body length at the underarm is reached, where decreases will be done for shaping. The neck will be shaped and bound off next. Each shoulder strap will be worked individually and placed on hold. Stitches will be picked up along the sides and side panels will be worked. A replica of the front panel is then worked. Seam the back panel to each side panel and join the shoulder straps with 3-needle bind-off.
A decorative picot edging is optional for the front and back necklines to match the hem edge.

The sizes in the pattern will be written as such: (1, 2, 3) (4, 5, 6) (7, 8) (9, 10)
The top is intended to be worn with 1” / 3 cm of positive ease at the chest. Choose a size that is 1” / 3 cm larger than the actual chest circumference you are knitting for. If between sizes, choose the size that closest matches the desired finished fit.
