Worked sideways, Crescita uses short-row colourwork to mimic a pattern of growth. Gentle whispers of grass or sproutlings are placed between the leaf forms all the way around the Hat. Worked in DK weight yarn the Hat can easily be adjusted for a range of sizes by changing needle size, gauge or yarn.

Hat Description
Crescita is a sideways knit gently slouchy Hat. It uses short row colourwork to create a motif of organic forms and lines within one panel, which is then repeated all around the Hat. It’s worked in garter stitch throughout and has a smooth crown.

Yarn A: 178yd/163m; Yarn B: 71yd/65m
DK weight, single or plied yarn; tonal or high contrast solid, semi-solid or variegated yarns.

Pair 3.25mm (3.5mm) straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge
3.25mm crochet hook

Gauge: 22 sts x 44 rows to 4in/10cm over Garter St.

Pattern Notes
Sizing in this pattern is achieved through gauge. The sideways nature of this design creates a great deal of stretch, so do consider the negative ease. Changes in gauge or yarn weight will mean a change in the size of the Hat.
