Looking for an easy crochet tee you’ll wear again and again? This beginner-friendly garter stitch design creates a timeless everyday top with a relaxed fit and slight crop, making it the perfect handmade wardrobe staple. You can wear with jeans, shorts, a skirt, or trousers.

This pattern set out as a challenge - a customer liked my knitted garter tee and wanted to know if there was a crochet version, so I set out to replicate the knitted garter st pattern.

This is a super easy pattern as there is no shaping, and it is a 2-row repeat, with each row repeating 1-st. You are basically alternating between 1 row of slip stitch in the front loop and 1 row of slip stitch in the back loop. And because it is done with a 10mm hook, it crochets up quicker. Best of all - it is done in one piece, with just the sides needing seaming.

DK yarn (I used a cotton blend as it is light and perfect for summer):
280 g – 320 g – 380 g – 440 g as per sizes
