This is a solid-color version of the Jökul Sweater, worked without colorwork. The Plain Jökul Sweater is worked top-down. It begins with short rows at the back, then stitches are picked up along each shoulder to shape the front and neckline. The body is then joined in the round. The sleeve caps and shoulder shape are created using a specially designed combination of short rows and decreases to avoid bunching under the arms and ensure a flattering fit. The sweater is finished with 2x2 rib, giving it a distinct look from the original Jökul Sweater. If you have previously purchased the Jökul Sweater pattern or kit, you can knit this version in one color simply by omitting the colorwork and working 2x2 rib at the edges instead, without shaping.
