A linen stitch cowl, in two sizes. Knitted the round. Linen stitch is ideal for this project. Knitting up into a winter weather-proof fabric and providing excellent definition for the colourwork.

Measurements:
Size: cowl 1 - 75cm/cowl 2 - 88cm
Depth 32cm/28cm

Materials:
Overall the cowl needs 150g/200g, 300m/400m Roving or Aran weight yarn.

As a minimum choose two of contrasting coloured yarn.

However, the cowl can be knitted in any amount of different coloured yarns – which makes it a great stash buster.

This pattern shows the cowl knitted with Aviva Leigh Roving Yarn from her Colours of Norfolk™ range, available from:
www.avivaleigh.com

Needles: 7.00mm circular needle (60cm length).

NOTE about needle size: colourwork often leads to a tightening of tension in knitting, so it is recommended that size a 7.00mm needle is used – this may be different to the needle size given on the yarn/ball band.

Gauge: 16 sts and 30 rows - 10 cm before blocking.
