Inspiration for the Crossroads mittens came from the shifting lines of my Severn shawl, and after some playing around combining the slip stitch pattern with stockinette and ribbing, the design was born. They are a perfect quick knit for instant gratification. They are also beginner friendly, but with a few slightly more advanced techniques included, you will learn a thing or two as well. Most importantly, they will keep your hands nice and warm.

The pattern is written for 6 sizes, from toddler to adult XL, and is available for three different gauges (fingering, DK and worsted weight). Perfect for all these small amounts of yarn and leftovers from other projects, that we all have in our stashes.

The pattern is available in English and German

PATTERN NOTES:

The mittens are worked bottom-up in the round, except for a little short-row shaping detail at the end of the cuffs which is worked flat back and forth.
Cast-on and bind-off (for the fingerless version) are worked with tubular methods for 1x1 ribbing, the thumb area is worked in stockinette stitch, and the hand features a shifting slip stitch pattern.
Left and right hand are worked identically.

You can choose to work them as mittens or fingerless mittens.

Each size has written instructions and is fully charted.
To cover all sizes in all three yarn weights, there are written instructions/charts for 8 different stitch counts to choose from.
