The Crossways Cable Scarf design was inspired by a stitch design in the pdf stitch collection, Cable Factor Vol 3: 37 Intriguing Designs, by Annie Maloney. This collection of cable designs combines cables with texture, and features cable stitch patterns with interesting twists and turns.

The original stitch pattern is worked vertically. Intrigued with the idea of tilting the pattern on the diagonal, I worked a decrease on the right side of the center pattern, and an increase on the left side.

Beginning and ending sections of the scarf are matching diagonals, high on the left, and low on the right.

Pattern was professionally tech edited by Robin Melanson.
