The inspiration for the Purl Crossed Cables scarf is from original cable designs by Annie Maloney. In her book Aran Lace, Annie has many lovely cable and lace stitch designs. This one caught my eye with it’s unusual cable crosses using purl stitches.

Lace stitches edge around the center diamond-shape and on the inside edges of the outer cables. The additional feature of double moss stitch in the center of the large diamonds is the the knit icing on the cake!

Scarf measurements: 8.25’’ wide by 52’’ long.

Sample on left shown in Shelridge Yarns Classic DK – Celery.
