I love cables. I love the way they create textured shapes, and can be used either all over something, or just as a small motif accent.
I wanted to design something with cables that flowed out of ribbing, and since I started this project a bit before Valentine’s Day, I also wanted a heart motif. So, I came up with the heart and spire motif that I call Crown of Hearts. I hope you enjoy it.

This is a beanie/toque style hat with a cabled heart and spire motif. Sizing for this hat is dependent on the yarn weight and needle size used. While the pattern calls for worsted weight, this can also be successfully done in a DK weight.

The pattern is charted, and also has line-by-line instructions for the chart, and a picture tutorial for the decrease at top of the heart.
