Crystal Star Snowflake Ornament
Make your own crochet snowflake ornaments!
These make great ornaments for the Christmas tree, hang in windows for winter decor, adorn wrapped gifts, make as a quick last minute gift or stocking stuffer, and can be included inside greeting cards since they are thin and light enough to mail and fit inside a standard card/card envelope. They can also be used as a decorative winter coaster.

US Terminology
Worked in rounds with very clear instructions that include the written pattern, step by step pictures and a pattern symbol chart.
Ornaments measure about 4.5” finished if using #2 fine weight yarn, but can use #3 Dk or #4 worsted if you prefer for a larger ornament or to make a coaster.
I used Cotton Fair by Premier but Minikins by Premier works beautifully for this pattern as well (same weight, slightly clearer stitch definition, slightly more stiff and less soft than Cotton Fair).
These don’t take much yarn so are a good option to use up leftovers, or you can make up to 25 of them with just 1 100g ball of yarn!
With the right yarn and a tighter tension, these crochet snowflakes will hold their shape and not flop, so no need to starch them. A quick steam block or wet block to improve their final shape and flatness.
