Hilariously adorable, and a little bit silly, this hat takes puppy cuteness to the next level! Bringing a smile to anyone who sees it, this dog costume is truly a blast to knit up. This dog costume was inspired by the legendary deep sea monster named “Cthulhu” by author, H. P. Lovecraft.

Designed to fit a miniature dachshund to perfection, this hat is entirely seamless for a flawlessly comfortable fit. Your doxie will feel superior to all in this snugly, “ski mask” style hat. This hat is knitted both flat and in the round, and the tentacles are the funnest part to make! The yarn is inexpensive, and comes in lots of fun colors!

The instructions for this knitting pattern are extra detailed and super clear, so you can rest assured that there will be only smooth sailing as you coast through this super fun knitting project.

Please note that my dog sincerely did not mind modeling this hat, and it truly didn’t seem to bother her at all during the 5-min photo shoot. I was a little worried that she would dislike it, and I wasn’t about to put her through wearing it if she absolutely hated it, but Jezebel sat there calm as a clam, and even seemed comfortable in the mask. The hat does not inhibit the use of her mouth, and she could easily munch on treats and lick her nose while she had on the hat.
