Over the years I’ve taught quite a few kids, not just to knit, but in the classroom as well. Two things are important to remember when finding projects suitable for kids: they have short attention spans and they want to feel they’ve achieved something.

Construction:
These cuffs are the perfect kid friendly project - they’re quick, they look good and you also get to teach the life skill of sewing on buttons. The pattern includes two options for either a garter stitch cuff or a welted cuff.

Beginner

This pattern was originally released as part of WARM: a large-scale collaborative knitting project that explored why the earth is warming and what we can do to make a positive change.

Knitters of all skill levels contributed to this large-scale piece that was exhibited at the Art Gallery of Ballarat in September 2016. It now has a permanent home in the Geelong Wool Museum.
