The Curling Leaves Cowl is inspired by the twisted shape of curled-up leaves on the trees as fall deepens towards winter. This cowl will keep you warm as the chill in the air increases and the number of shrivelled leaves left on the branches dwindles, anticipating the upcoming depths of winter.

Pattern Description

This comfortable, unisex cowl uses a zigzag texture pattern to add subtle interest to a stockinette background. Worked in the round in a smooshy DK weight, this is a quick and satisfying knit! Ribbing at the edges of the cowl help the edges stay tucked in against the brisk fall wind. Corresponding written instructions are provided for the chart.

Yarn Requirements and Sizing

As written, this pattern requires one skein of DK-weight yarn; approximately 220-250 m / 240-275 yards.

Intended for multicoloured yarns, this pattern works with a wide range of colourways. The strands in front of the fabric allow a hand-dyed yarn’s subtle details to shine!

Note: The yarn requirements above are for a finished size of 60 cm / 24 inches in circumference and a height of 26 cm / 10.25 inches (blocked). Guidelines are provided in the pattern for adjusting the circumference and the height is flexible. However, changing the dimensions will make the yarn requirements vary widely; for a larger cowl, you will need a second skein of yarn.
