Knit on US 10 dpns, US 11 circular (16”), and US 11 dpns.

I did not gauge, I’m sorry, I hate it! :P But I can tell you that the hat fit my sister with a larger head, and my best friend that’s the size of your average 12 year old. The hat wound up very stretchy and should fit a variety of persons.

Any bulky yarn would do, but the Patons was the right color (original “test subject” attends the University of Michigan) and suuuuper soft!

Increases or decreases at casting on should be made in increments of 4 stitches to keep the symmetry in the decreases when closing up.
