This hat and neckwarmer set is ideal for winter sports. The soft coziness of alpaca is combined with openwork to prevent overheating when active, but can be scrunched up for additional warmth while waiting for the ski-lift! It is named for Vancouver’s local cross-country ski area.

The hat is knit in the round from the top down, with a little extra length for a floppy toque. The neckwarmer is knit from one skein and tucks into the top of a jacket, or pattern repeats can be added for extra length. (Hint: hat uses less than a skein of yarn – use the remainder to add length to the neckwarmer.)

A bonus circular scarf pattern is included, that also uses less than one skein. I realized that I needed something that could be loosened or unwrapped without getting lost!

Gauge of 16 sts and 20 rows to 4” on US 10 / 6mm needles for hat.
Gauge of 10 sts and 12 rows to 4” on US 13 / 9mm needles for neckwarmer / scarf.
