Dachshund Expansion is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern EXPANSION PACK for Lucky Puppy! This pattern is not meant to be a stand-alone pattern, it is an expansion design option for the Lucky Puppy pattern. This means it does not include size options and detailed information on yarn usage per size.

There is an automatic 10% discount added when you purchase Lucky Puppy in addition to the expansion pack. This discount applies to past purchases of Lucky Puppy as well!

As with the Lucky Puppy pattern, this pattern requires angled decrease stitches. It has a 48-stitch repeat and is interchangeable with the Witty Kitty and Silly Filly patterns.

Included in the pattern are printable miniatures to mix and match with your Lucky Puppy layouts! Included in your purchase is the original PDF, a single-page written PDF, and a single-page graph PDF (great for tablets!).

Also included are photo tutorials on the angled stitches and a photo tutorial on anchoring your stitches for the longer stretches of DC. There are 2 links for video tutorials of the angled stitches as well.

I made a 2x2 piece that measures 26” x 27” without the border. I used Red Heart Supersaver Solids in Soft Navy and Orchid. Each square tail or head uses approximately 230 yards of 4-weight yarn (130 yards background and 100 yards contrast). The size and yarn usage is subject to change depending on your crochet tension and yarn/hook choices.

This is an intermediate level pattern and includes a beginner’s guide on how to do mosaic crochet. It uses angled stitches. I have included a photo tutorial for those stitches, as well as a tutorial video. There is also a tutorial video created by Alissa S. on angled stitches for left-handed crocheters. The PDF does include a photo tutorial on creating a basic envelope border.

The PDF pattern is written in U.S. terminology and includes the full written pattern in a row-by-row format, as well as the ticked graphs. The written format is in a new, easier to read format! Also included is a printer-friendly PDF that allows you to print only the necessities for the pattern.

Please note that different yarns, different tensions, and different hook sizes will all utilize a different amount of yarn.

4-Weight yarn:
Gauge: 4”x4” = 13st x 13st
