These mittens are designed according to the Norwegian Selbu tradition. They are knit on dpns, two-stranded in the round. The thumb is gusseted. The mittens are a reular men’s size, and they measure 30.5 cm/12” total length (22.5 cm/8.8” hand and 8 cm/3.1” cuff). Circumference is 22.5 cm/8.8”.

Gauge:
32 sts & 32 rows per 10 cm (4 in) in two-stranded stockinette in the round. Note that gauge does not match the suggested gauge for yarn.

Materials:
* Yarn: I used Rauma Finull, a 2 ply wool yarn, 175 metres (191 yds) per 50 grams.
Main colour approx. 45 grams and contrast colour approx. 30 grams (1 skein of each colour).

• Dpns size 2.5 mm or size needed to achieve gauge.
• Stitch holder or scrap yarn for thumb stitches
• Darning needle
