The Daisyline Scarf was born from the idea of creating a piece that feels both beautiful and versatile — light enough to wear with a summer dress, yet cozy enough to layer on cooler days. I wanted to design something delicate, elegant, and easy to reach for all year round: a scarf that feels just as effortless as it looks.

Featuring elegant vertical lace panels framed by subtle eyelet columns, the Daisyline Scarf combines airy texture with clean structure to create a refined accessory that can be styled across seasons.

Designed as an engaging yet relaxing knit, the scarf features an easily memorizable lace pattern that creates a rhythmic and enjoyable knitting experience. Suitable for adventurous beginners as well as more experienced knitters, it offers a polished result with minimal complexity.

The pattern includes two edging options, allowing you to tailor the finished look to your personal style:

  • Soft Frill Edging – a gentle, romantic finish with a subtle wave
  • Sawtooth Lace Edging – a light, airy edging with delicate points for a more modern, structured look

CONSTRUCTION

The scarf is worked flat, beginning with the main body. Once the desired length is reached, stitches are bound off and stitches are then picked up along both ends to work your chosen edging.

SIZING AND MEASUREMENTS

The pattern is written for one size, but it is easily adjustable in both width and length, making it simple to customise to your preferred dimensions.

Sample measurements:
Length: 144–145 cm / 57.5”–58”
Width: 14 cm / 5.5”

GAUGE

35 stitches and 30 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4” x 4” in lace pattern worked flat, after blocking, using 3.5 mm / US 4 needles.
Gauge is not crucial for this project.

YARN

Perfect as a one-skein project, the Daisyline Scarf is ideal for stash-busting or for showcasing a special skein of fingering weight yarn. While designed for fingering weight yarn, the pattern can also be worked with other yarn weights to create different fabric qualities and drape.

For my white sample, I used Lana Gatto VIP (90% extra fine merino, 10% cashmere, 50 g = 200 m / 218 yards), in the 10001 – White shade.

For my petrol blue sample, I used Drops Flora (65% wool, 35% alpaca, 50 g = 210 m / 230 yards), in the 11 – Petrol shade.

If you make the Soft Frill Edging (as shown in the white sample), you will need approx. 335 m / 365 yards of fingering weight yarn for a scarf in the measurements given above.

If you make the Sawtooth Lace Edging (as shown in the petrol blue sample), you will need approx. 340 m / 370 yards of fingering weight yarn for a scarf in the measurements given above.
