See my Dala Dolls come to life in a fun animated GIF!

My Dala Dolls are inspired by colorful, Dala Horses. In Sweden Dala horses have been handmade for hundreds of years. During the long winters, the men would carve the wooden horses for their children and the women would paint them. When I make handmade toys for my friends and family, I love thinking about the people in the past who have done the same.

To make your own Dala Dolls, you’ll need:
One 12mm wooden bead for the head
One pipe cleaner for the body
Scrap yarn
A set of dpns
One free evening
