The Root Children
A FREE copy of my Tiny Knit Flowers can be found here!
This pattern is inspired by one of my favorite books ever - The Story of the Root Children by Sibylle von Olfers and sweet little waldorf peg dolls. My Root Children are constructed like finger puppets and about the same size too, but instead of putting your finger inside you put a pipe cleaner and a bead head. The pattern now comes with knitted flowers so you can make your favorite one, or two, or three!
These are one of my simplest dolls with the least amount of finishing so are a great gateway doll into the world of Wee Folk Valley. The knitting and the finishing takes about half an hour each.
To make a Root Child, you’ll need: 12mm wooden bead for the head, scrap yarn (in pretty colors), a set of dpns and one free evening.

Happy Knitting!

Praise for Root Children
I love when the first flowers of spring are appearing each year - its magic. So I made some spring flower children. Cute tiny flower girl with a green cloak. This one was finished very quickly in a few hours. (Omissi)
As always, Natasha has another fast and fun knit. The instructions were clear and helped every step of the way with lots of photos to guide. It only took a bit of tv watching to complete - so fast! (kandyknit)
Love these little dolls!! (thrsedge)
The root baby is so dang cute!! I tried to time myself on this one and I think it was a couple hours. These little dolls are addicting! (MinniStitcher)
