This pretty dress features rings of dandelions in a contrasting colour in both the border and yoke.

The stitch pattern is novel. It is derived from dip stitch, but has taller central petals, and uses a specific float locking technique so that the shape of the dandelion is maintained when using a contrast colour.

The pattern uses sport weight yarn for the main colour. The dandelions can also be worked in sport weight yarn, or in any leftover sock yarn (fingering weight), enabling a wider choice of colours. Knit in wool for wearing over long sleeves and tights in cooler weather, or knit in cotton and wear alone for summer.

The Dandelion Dress is worked in one piece in the round from the bottom up. No sewing or grafting is required. Instructions for five sizes are included (newborn - 3 months, 3 – 6 months, 6 – 12 months, 12 – 18 months and 18 months – 2 years).
A schematic diagram, full written instructions and photo tutorials are given, with a chart for the lower border included for optional use. Measurements are given in both metric and imperial.
