These socks are worked top-down in the round, beginning with a 2×2 ribbed leg for stretch and comfort. The heel flap is worked flat, continuing the ribbing as a decorative detail, and is shaped with short rows to turn the heel.
Stitches are picked up along the heel flap to form the gusset, which is decreased for a well-fitted instep. The foot is worked to the desired length, with the 2×2 ribbing continued along the top of the foot for added comfort and structure. The toe is shaped symmetrically and finished by grafting the remaining stitches together for a seamless finish.
