It seems like most of my designs are based on fond childhood memories and my interest in gardening and nature, and this is no exception! I’m a child of the 70’s and every household had mushroom nick-knacks, along with a variety of hippy décor such as butterflies, hanging plants, and astral related elements. And thankfully that style as made a comeback and merged with the recent cottage-core or goblin-core style, and I’m all for it! This design includes a modified version of my mushroom square design, along with other elements that feed my soul! I hope you enjoy this design as much as I enjoyed creating it!

This project uses the overlay mosaic technique and the pattern is written in US crochet terms. The pattern currently does NOT include full written row-by-row instructions yet but will be updated with those later. It does include a 16 page printer-friendly chart, along with colorized & plain 1 page charts to zoom in on your phone & devices. The charts have all the X’s marked, and there are full instructions on all the techniques used in this project, along with links to generic video tutorials on the techniques used as well.

Finished size: 45” x 56” without a border, using med weight #4 yarn & 5mm hook

Yarn used for sample image:
Black = 1738 yards
Forest green = 591.5 yards
Purple = 26.0 yards
White = 79.4 yards
Oatmeal = 52 yards
Turquoise = 71.1 yards
Red = 50.7 yards
Gold = 152 yards

I used various brands of yarn, using what I had in my stash. (RHSS, Big Twist, Mainstays, etc) You can use any yarn you wish, as long as all your colors are the same thickness (weight) and use the hook recommended for your yarn choices. You can also do this project in just 2 colors rather than the colors shown. I have another one started using stripes for the main design and teal for the background - the options are only limited by the imagination!

This pattern uses U.S. terms.
