A charming gradient scarf using the peek through effect of a slip stitch pattern. Colours for the sample are inspired on dusk and dawn skies, but the pattern lends itself for creative colour use.

As only a little of each colour is required, this is a great project for leftover skeins in the same yarnweight.

Gauge: 26 sts x 26 rows = 10x10 cm in slip stich pattern
after blocking. Note: The unblocked swatch will likely have many more rows as it is based on garter stitch and will stretch out significantly in blocking.

Yarn:
Sport weight yarn:
~270gr / ~450m total or
~45 gr / ~75m per colour if you use 6 colours
Sample:
DROPS Baby Alpaca Silk:
70% alpaca & 30% silk

Finished size of the sample is 45 cm x 140 cm, but it’s very easy to adjust to your wishes. Similarly, you can use any other yarn weight if you’re willing to adjust the sizing to your gauge swatch.

Needles & notions:
1 set of 3.5 mm straight or circular needles (or
equivalent to make gauge).
1 tapestry needle
