(Since brioche fabric is highly elastic, the gauge is given as a range — both when the fabric is slightly stretched and when it is allowed to relax naturally after being gently pulled vertically.)

This short-sleeve brioche top-down sweater is made with Dear Linen, a lightweight yarn perfect for summer garments. The brioche texture gives it a polished, ready-to-wear look—create a piece that looks store-bought, handmade by you.

Although there’s no separate back-neck shaping, the wide raglan lines naturally form a soft round neckline. Once you’re familiar with the brioche technique, the project works up easily through repetitive rows.

The neckline is finished with a folded double-layer band for a refined look. Since it’s worked top-down starting from the neck ribbing, there’s no need to pick up stitches, making the process smooth and convenient.
