When we spent a lovely day in Copenhagen together, my daughter, Dea, chose the colours for this cardigan:)

As much as I love an intricate knit with lots of advanced stitches,
I dearly love a fast and relaxed knit, too.

This top-down cardigan gives great colour-possibilities.
Choose your favourite combination of 2 solid colours, work in a variegated yarn with a solid color for contrast, work in one colour only…. There are so many lovely possibilities.

Design and construction
This classic cardigan with its circular yoke has an elevation at the centre back (to create a deeper neck on front).
The cardigan is knit top-down and seamlessly.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a fingering weight yarn with a great stitch-definition and in a quality suitable for a baby. And, if it’s superwash, it’s even better! I used 2 colours of CaMaRose “Yaku 4/16” to work the cardigan, MC = Sömandsblå (1710) and CC = Lyseblå (1987). This 100% fingering weight, merino wool, comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76oz, and 200 m/219 yards.
You will need approximately 170/210/260/330/450 m = 185/230/285/360/490 yards of MC and 90/120/150/200/250 m = 100/130/165/220/275 yards of CC.
Needles: a small, circular needle, 3 mm/US2.5 for the yoke and lower body.
A set of DPNS (or a circular needle, if working the magic loop),
3 mm/US2.5 for the sleeves. Straight needles, 3 mm/US2.5 for the button-bands.
Notions: stitch-markers, buttons 1cm/0.3” across. Tapestry needle. Separate holders. Row counter.

Gauge
28 sts in stockinette sts = 10 cm/4”.
