This blanket has six colors (C1 to C6), combined pairwise along the blanket in a shifting combination. Any six colors can be used.

I did this with Cascade Ultra Pima and size 10 needles and the fabric is fairly open. Yardage listed is for this combination of yarn and needle.

Any yarn and needle combination can be used if you like the resulting fabric. Also the pattern can be extended either horizontally or vertically, and the sizes of the blocks can be adjusted simply by changing any of the variables: number of repeats of row 1 and 2; number of stockinette stitches between the purl columns; number of rows for each color pair; spacing of the purl rows. There also could be more or fewer than 6 colors.

I have made two blankets of this pattern, but I am writing this up formally retroactively from notes made at the time and it has not been test knit from the pattern as written here. If you try this and have any questions or corrections please let me know.
