This is a heart scarf that I made for a child. It is a seed stitch border with a row of hearts down the middle. It is reversible in that the row of hearts is purl against a knit background on one side and knit against a purl background on the other.

The gauge provided is unblocked. The pattern will work with any yarn and gauge that produces a fabric you like, though I would use a yarn and gauge that gives a fairly tight fabric.

With the recommended yarn and and given unblocked gauge, 22 repeats (23 hearts) ended up with a scarf of 4.5 inches wide and about 50 inches long after blocking.
