Deep Winter, a collabortation with Brine Dyeworks
, are stranded colourwork socks, with a dreamy winter theme.

The pattern includes 3 sizes, and the socks are constructed toe up. Two heel options are available, a German Shortrow heel, or use the trusty Fish Lips Kiss heel from the Sox Therapist found here Fish Lips Kiss Heel

This pattern has 5 files to download. The main pattern includes all instructions and charts in one place. However, for reading ease, there are also 3 separate files, each of which contain the charts for just one size. This will hopefully make for easy reading!

There is also a bonus chart…because it just sort of came about in testing that we would like the option of just a forest. So…I also like options! The result: Bonus Chart, Snowy Forest - Forest for Days, is also included in your purchase.

There are lots of colourwork tips also, so if this is your first time venturing into stranded socks, fear not! And I have a help thread in my Ravlery group, just in case you need me! Carlie Perrins Knits

Sample Yarn Used:
1 x 50g, 211m/231yds skein, Brine Dyeworks, 75/25 Merino Sock in colour Dirty Weather (MC).
1 X 20g, 84m/92yds skein, Brine Dyeworks, 75/25 Merino Sock in colour Nori (C1).

1 X 20g, 84m/92yds skein, Brine Dyeworks, 75/25 Merino Sock in colour Urchin (C4).

Yardage: 50g/231yds of Main Colour is sufficient for even the largest size.

Amounts of Contrast Colours will vary depending on: size, number of colours you use, gauge, modifications.

However, there is more than enough yardage for even the largest size if you have FOUR 20g/92yds minis available.

Suggested Needles:
2.5mm/US 1.5, 80cm/32” length for magic loop for the stockinette stitch section OR size(s) needed to obtain gauge.
2.75mm/US 2, 80cm/32” length for magic loop for the stranded colourwork sections OR size needed to obtain gauge.
Many knitters go up 1-2 sizes for the colourwork portion to maintain gauge. Darning needle.

Gauge: 34sts and 40 rounds/10cm or 4”, in the round, in stockinette stitch with the smaller needles AND in stranded colourwork with the larger needles.
