Deer in the Woods is created using the overlay mosaic technique.

These are 3 separate patterns that can be used in any project you like, but they do fit into Sholach perfectly if you would like to add a herd of deer to your project.

Two PDF’s are available - one using US terms and one using UK terms.

The PDF has 3 easy to read charts (with X’s for DCs) for each pattern included, and corresponding written instructions.

There are 3 different patterns
• A herd of 3 deer
• A herd of 3 deer and a pine tree
• A herd of 4 deer and two pine trees

If you are going to use these in Sholach, the main Sholach pattern is a starting chain of 196 (24 x 8, plus 4)

• Deer Herd 1 will fit 4 times.
• Deer Herd 2 will fit 3 times.
• Deer Herd 3 will fit 2 times.

You can purchase Sholach from my Ravelry store if you haven’t already:

I haven’t given any yarn stats for these, since they are just small patterns. If you’re using these in Sholach, it is up to you which patterns you decide to replace with these.

You can use any yarn and corresponding hook you like for this pattern, just remember a tighter tension is better for mosaic crochet.

You can include these patterns in any of your overlay mosaic projects, but please do credit me when posting pictures.

Happy crocheting
