Version 3 of my Delectable Slouch Hat has a short-row shaped front and a very comfortable folded ribbed edge. This lightwieght winter hat is knit from the top down and is designed for the advanced knitter. It’s embellished with beads and buttons. The instructions given will make a hat that fits most adults, but instructions also include a headband variation for head circumferences smaller than 21”.

Two colour combos are given: Blueberry Fool, and Chocolate Spice. Blueberry Fool requires 2 lace weight yarns and 1 fingering weight yarn. Chocolate Spice requires 1 lace weight yarn, 1 light fingering weight yarn, and 1 double knitting weight yarn. Specific gauges and weights are given in the pattern instructions.

If you are buying new yarn, you will need to purchase one skein of each yarn recommended for your preferred colour combo. If you’re using yarn from your stash, you’ll need approximately 1/2 a skein of yarn C and a 1/4 of a skein of each of yarns A and B.

You’ll also need 16 beads or buttons or combinations (no larger than 3/8” diameter). An additional bead or button or combination is needed for the centre crown. Of course, you can leave out the bead embellishment and the hat will still look great!
