The Delores Keyhole Scarf was designed and named in honor of a family friend. Recently she discovered that she has cancer and decided to undergo treatment. As part of the treatment,
hair loss and many visits to the doctor during cold months is common.

This bulky scarf is designed to keep the neck warm while being easily removed or adjusted due to the keyhole feature. Acrylic yarn was chosen for the garment because it is washable, easily cared for, and is recommended for people undergoing chemotherapy.

The Delores Bulky Knit Hat was also designed to complete this ensemble.

Yarn
150 yds bulky weight (size 5) yarn (includes margin of error). The original piece was knitted using Loops &Threads Charisma (100% Acrylic) Bulky (109 yds/100g). The goal for this garment is to be friendly for people undergoing chemotherapy, so any of the available bulky yarns on the Knots of Love Guidelines are also recommended.

Gauge
Gauge is not very important for this piece, but the goal is to create a stretchy, plush fabric that is somewhat dense, but doesn’t overheat the wearer. Try to keep the same gauge throughout to avoid distortion.

Finished Measurements
Width: ~6 inches
Length: ~48 inches

This piece’s length is customizable, as long as the keyhole placement is maintained.
