Get some color in your knitting! The Descending Order Hat is a staple for fall wardrobes, a simple slouchy hat that is complimented by a colorful ‘twisted braid.’ As you work towards the crown of the hat, the twisted braids become shorter, creating a descending order or step-stair pattern.

You will need four colors for this hat – a main color for the hat body and three contrasting colors for the twisted braids. The Descending Order Hat is great for using up those mini-skeins you have been collecting or leftovers from sock yarn projects! Contrasting colors are listed at approximately 5g per color, but you will likely use less for the braids. Match your favorite coat, choose your favorite team colors, or mix-and-match from your remnants stash and get some color in your knitting!

Twisted Braid:
If you can knit and purl, you can create a twisted braid! Step-by-step instructions for creating the twisted braid are included in the pattern, as well as chart to help you choose your own color palate.
