This cowl has a lovely combination of vertical ribs and horizontal stripes of garter stitch on a stockinette stitch background. It’s a wonderful cowl suitable for both males and females alike and a great one for even beginners to tackle.

The cowl is knit flat and will need to be sewn up with a tapestry needle in the final step using the Mattress technique. This technique is explained with diagrams in the pattern.

One skein of Malabrigo Rios in the colorway Playa was used to make the cowl in the photos.
