Are you a fan of the Motor City? Share your love of DETROIT with this beanie! Know a local sports fan? Knit it up in the team’s colors so they can show their spirit for the city and the team too. It would make a great gift!

This hat begins with a provisional cast on and is knit on a US 5 3.75 mm 16” 41cm circular needle in the round. A second US 5 3.75 mm circular needle is needed to join the cast on edge to create the folded brim. A set of US 5 3.75 mm double pointed needles are required for decreases.

The charted DETROIT design is knit back and forth in the stranded method on circular needles and joined with a Bickford seam once complete. Tutorial links are included so you can rev up your knitting skills.

The hat takes approximately 160 yds for the main color and 15 yds for the contrast color. The contrast color should be the darker of the two colors to create the shadow effect.
