Materials Needed:
5 mm (H) hook, or hook needed to obtain gauge approximately 200 yards of soft, stretchy, worsted weight yarn – pictured is Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Yarn” in “Linen”
yarn needle for weaving in ends
scissors
measuring tape or stick, for braided tassel
(Optional) Pom-pom maker if you prefer a pom-pom instead of a tassel

Stitches Used:
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
psc = picot single crochet
hdc: half double crochet
FPhdc: front post half double crochet
BPhdc: back post half double crochet

Additional Terms:
-Picot Single Crochet (psc) also known as the Granule Stitch: Insert hook, yo, pull up a loop, yo, draw through 1 loop 3 times to make a ch 3, then yo, and draw through both loops on the hook.
-Stitching in the “3rd loop” of hdc. Look behind the stitch to find the “3rd loop” and work all stitches for that round in that 3rd loop.

Gauge:
14 stitches in 4”

Measurements: Finished hat should measure, un-stretched, about 24” tall, not including the braided tassel, and 6” at the widest part of the hat. It will have a good amount of stretch and should fit up to a 15” head circumference.
