Technic : Double filet crochet, Interlocking filet crochet

Type : 40 windows square, Afghan block

Gauge :
5 by 5 windows per 5 cm or 4 by 4 windows per 5 cm.
As long as your windows are square, using a different gauge won’t affect the design, but it will change the finish size and the amount of yarn needed.

Size :
40 by 40 cm
Or 50 by 50 cm

Yarn :
For a 40 by 40 cm square, gauge 5 by 5 windows per 5 cm
To match this gauge I used DK (Weight 3) yarn and a 4.5 mm Hook.
• 170 meters of yarn for each of your two colors, which is a total of 340 meters of yarn.
• 186 yards per colors, a total of 372 yards of yarn

For a 50 by 50 cm square, gauge 4 by 4 windows per 5 cm
To match the gauge I used Aran (Weight 4) yarn and a 4.5 mm Hook.
• 240 meters of yarn for each of your two colors, which is a total of 480 meters of yarn.
• 263 yards per colors, a total of 526 yards of yarn

The pattern contains a graph, Right-Handed and Left-Handed written instructions.

I wanted people to be able to use this square to make a pillow to go with the Puzzle Baby Blanket, this is why I provide two gauge.
Those are two pretty common cushion size, so you should be able to find something that fit.
If you want to make a pillow, just make two square of the same size and attach them together, my favorite joining method is the zipper join but you can use any method you like.
