Diamant is a design from the Strikkekraft knitwear collection.

In 2024, Anne Björke asked 10 designers to revisit traditional Norwegian patterns by Norlender, to honour the local machine knitting heritage with a handknit tribute.

I decided to focus on the small diamond-shaped filler, so that it could have pride of place in my design instead of being the insignificant background to a larger, more intricate motif.
It is a very simple yet effective repetitive motif that I enjoyed translating into brioche knitting.
I added a ribbed border to the upper edge of the shawl as a reference to the sweater inspiration behind this shawl design.
Diamant is a large triangle shawl worked from the tip upwards to the upper edge.
It features a two-colour brioche diamond motif that is worked in reverse colours in two large V shapes, two-colour side edges and one-colour brioche ribbing.
The diamond motif looks like a collection of short sticks on the wrong side, and the shawl is fully reversible.
