The Diamond Dazzle Mitt is knit in the round and has a stay put cuff with 3 cushy purl bands interspersed with 3 Latvian braids. The top of the mitt is adorned with two more purl bands and a braid. The body of the mitt looks challenging, but the diamonds are easily created using a slip stitch pattern. Placement of an after-thought thumb is marked with waste yarn during the knitting of the body and then the thumb is knit at the end. The thumb also sports a Latvian braid.

This pattern lends itself to many different looks based on your yarn choices whether hand spun or commercial. You can use black or another solid as your diamond outlines and use leftovers or small amounts of coordinating colors for your background. Or you can use another solid, a variegated, a self-striping, or gradient yarn for your background. The possibilities are endless!
