Diamonds are renowned for their brilliance, their value and with these socks I wanted to celebrate all the diamonds present in my life, the people, the experiences and the environments that foster a sense of joy and gratitude. For me, it’s about taking the time to marvel at all the wonder that is present in my life as a counterpoint to any challenges, difficulties or disappointments I might be facing.

These socks are about the joy of community, of friendship and of all the allies that we have in our lives, helping us to keep moving and to keep shining. They feature a simple diamond lattice across the body of the foot and moss stitch diamonds are present in the coloured stripes, which were worked in vibrant neon colours to allude to bright, shining light.

The socks are knitted top down, with a heel flap and gusset and the textured pattern is charted only.

Materials:
• One 2.25mm / US size 1 circular needle, 100cm / 40” in length, or set of DPNs, or in size needed to meet the required gauge.
• Stitch markers (2), one of which is used to mark the beginning of round.
• Tapestry needle for sewing in threads.
• Blocking materials.
• Fingering weight (sock weight) yarn, exact yardage may vary and is dependent on size and foot length. A 100g skein of sock yarn in the main colour along with 5g of sock yarn in each of the contrast colours should be suitable for most adult sizes,
• Sample is worked using Big Fox Yarn, Perfect Sock - 75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 350m / 383yds per 100g in the colourways Amazon (MC), Sour worm (CC1) and Lemon (CC2).

Gauge:
33 stitches and 48 rounds = 10cm / 4” in textured pattern, worked in the round and blocked.

Size:
1 (2, 3, 4, 5): The socks are 14cm (17cm, 19.5cm, 22cm, 24cm) / 5.75” (6.75”, 7.75”, 8.75”, 9.5”) in circumference. Socks are intended to fit with approximately 2.5cm – 4.5cm / 1” – 1.75” negative ease.
